Leaving the Pirate Faction

So I was considering returning here lately, bit of a steep hill to climb getting back into a game like this but I've accepted that and moved on. Just so happens that when I quit I was pirate and now as I have no land upon returning and am not immediately patron (honestly depends on the answer I get to this thread) is my only way of returning west literally dumping 3k worth of gold into draughts?

I have to be missing something here, so I really hope someone has news for me
