I've been stalking and jotting down comments and concerns on the Gamigo Unchained discord. If you feel anything was missed or want to chime in, go ahead.
- The transition from RMT will be extremely difficult. Gamigo should consider at the very least a hand picked beta where experienced nerds can go in and find different p2w elements to be changed. Even a single instance of p2w will shake the foundation of trust Gamigo is attempting to rebuild. We want server longevity, something all fresh starts have struggled with.
- In regards to p2w, apex and the cash shop are minor concerns. P2winners instead buy gold off friends quitting or off websites. What is the plan for addressing this type of p2w? What is to stop someone from buying armor and using a 3rd party website to list and cash out/buy into the game?
- Gamigo needs to act with a swift fist especially regarding gold buying, botting, and exploiting. Make examples.
- Alts. Alts being removed requires a lot of balancing especially in regards to honor and land. It sounds like alt accounts are allowed, but only one account is allowed to be logged in at a time. This means land barons can amass huge swathes of land. Where does Gamigo stand on this? The login tracker and its rewards need to be tweaked so alt accounts don't become the meta. Rewards will need to be increased so mains have sufficient honor + medals.
- The theme park elements should be looked at. The beauty of alpha/initial release was the freedom to do whatever you want. Feel like sailing the oceans for ten hours? Go for it. But now there are events like kadum/luscas/abyssal/MM/halcy and more which players feel forced to attend in order to stay competitive. Ideally rewards would be increased but the frequency of events like luscas/abyssal are reduced.
- The cargo system is hated by nearly everyone. Address this. Players need good consistent ways of earning gold. Unless there has been a drastic shift when I last played, if inland cargo runs (ex: solzreed -> gwen) aren't being done then cargo turn ins tank. Freedich used to be the best area for gold and rightfully so. It brought pvp and risk vs reward.
- Having two viable gear progression paths is extremely important. Crafting is way too expensive compared to hiram and won't be a decent alternative. Instead players will funnel into Auroria for the endless grind. Crafted gear can lead to RMT problems, but it is favored by a lot of players who don't want to commit to an armor type/class like hiram forces you into. Any materials connected to crafted gear such as charcoal or whatever it is called now will tank, resulting in issues with the trade systems. Hiram was heavily botted on other servers, what is your plan to combat botting and illegal program usage? Crafting MUST be an economically viable gear path. Hiram was introduced as a catchup mechanic for KR, not for a new fresh start.
- Hiram and crystallization needs to be looked at. Without alts/multi accounts to help with honor, honor gains need to be increased or crystallization chances needs to be reduced. With the removal of p2w and by extension likely loot potions, hiram drops and infusions should have an increased drop rate.
- Removing p2w from the marketplace will be a tough challenge. The fear is Gamigo might take the lazy route and just toss everything on a vendor for large sums of gold, which will drain tons of gold from the economy. If they become drops from high end bosses this will widen the gap between the best guilds, which will lead to faster server decay. Charms, vehicle upgrades and more need to be added into the game but how it's done needs to be done with great care. Stat costumes were already hard enough to make on legacy/the most recent fresh start. The cash shop reroll box offered will be removed from the market as it's p2w, how will you balance the leveling up and rerolling of costumes with no p2w option?
- At a $20 euro price point will that be enough to sustain the game? Even if other tiers are offered, they'd need some incredible looking non p2w items to make players buy them. Speaking of p2w, what is defined as such? Are expansion scrolls p2w? Character slot scrolls? What about bound hereafter stones which you can use instead of buying or crafting your own? Furthermore the Battlepass will add cosmetic only items. Do you really expect to sell so many passes to keep the servers chugging and content rolling?
- What is considered p2w? Are drop loot pots p2w when some will argue it's just pay to progress faster? What about hereafter stones? How about increased xp potions? We need an idea what to expect.
- Queues will be a thing. Please consider implementing an afk auto logout timer.
- Safezone housing sucks. Reconsider it.
- Safezones around cargo areas, reconsider it.
- The infamy system sucks. Someone on your sail or cannon at kraken? Time to flag. Current system is too punishing.
- Server rulesets. Trion made controversial decisions like banning player blockades, avocado blocking, etc. Are we getting the same rules or will Gamigo make their own?
- If there are multiple servers, don't connect the auction houses. The underpopulated Vengeance server tanked the prices on Reckoning. I knew people running solo merchants out of war zones uncontested daily. Having every single item on that server coming from that server, it's nice.
- Consider allowing character creation and name reservation early like classic World of Warcraft. It builds hype and gives general population numbers. You want to avoid a day one debacle like Trion routinely had.
- Event weekends rock. Increased honor/hiram/etc. Do these.
- Are we getting only Tier 1 hiram, or are we able to get super OP weapons early on? If so people will just rush their weapon first causing an awkward meta.
- Where are the servers going to be located? Central US sucks, especially for SEA. Are you considering a SEA server?
- Consider some goodwill towards the abused player base. At the very least add in the cosmetic items for founders and perhaps a non stat unique title for players who've spent cash on the game.
- Land rushing will be huge. 100 gilda per 16x16 house, rushing farms will become the meta. Players will need labor for the materials + certs and more 8x8s to craft up. This will make alt accounts near mandatory if you want impact land locations. Have you considered this? Previous fresh starts had much cheaper housing patterns. Will you instead gate land rushing like was done on the last fresh start? I highly recommend this. People will still run a second PC with an alt acct or quickly relog to get large plots of land reserved.
- When will castles be released? What other content or gear levels will be gated by time? What about vehicles?
