9.52 giga octet patch ?!?

Hello,

I just connected glyph at 9h30 AM hour of Paris european server (without connecting on US server), and after a 1st patch of 63 Mega octets Glyph say me to do a new update and start an update of 9.52 giga octets (witch will take 9 hours to download). Is it a bug or a bad jocke ?
Is there a way to play without this 9 hours download patch ?
