I quit about a year ago, shortly after Auroria opened up.
1) Do I understand correctly that as of 1.7 you now need to be level 30 before you can do the trade run quests, and this is true of the 2.0 launch as well?
2) To do the new trade run quests, I need Milk, which needs cows, which need Combined Feed. Do you still need a Farmer's Workstation (which requires advanced Alchemy for the Viscous Oil)? Doesn't this in turn require rare resources derived from sea-bound trade runs? Something circular about this, isn't there? I'm sure I don't understand this correctly.
3) Is it possible to do other trade runs prior to the trade run quests necessary for the Scarecrow farm?
4) If I buy one of the Depth packs now, and don't use it, will all its content be available for use by my new character when I start at 2.0 launch?
